CEE-HOPE is a Nigerian
non-governmental organization (ngo) focused on children's rights, welfare,
protection and development with particular focus on those in urban slums and
rural areas of the country. It is guided by the mantra of
"RIGHTING LIVES, RESTORING HOPE, ONE CHILD AT
A TIME".
CEE-HOPE's Core areas of operations
include:
Stemming the tides of child abuse
in every form including but not limited to child rape, battery, child sale,
domestic servitude and stigmatization in any form. To that effect, CEE-HOPE has
also actively become involved in advocacy for the protection of children as
well as adequate rehabilitation in light of worsening cases of terrorism in
Nigeira which has impacted heavily on children involving the death of many.
CEE-HOPE has is one of the few organisations that has been in the forefront in
the campaign for the safe return of the more than 200 abducted school girls
from their hostels in Chibok, North East Nigeria.
CEE-HOPE is involved in girl
child education and empowerment, especially the endangered ones in impoverished
communities across Nigeria and currently runs the 'Girls Go for Greatness'
Club, a mentorship, leadership and and empowerment club in urban slums,
prominently in Makoko, Lagos and communities in Ogun State.
As part of its welfare and
development program for at-risk children,
CEE-HOPE has commenced the ‘ Nigerian Child Relief Fund’ which seeks
support for emergency relief and educational rehabilitation for children
displaced, impacted and or orphaned by the Boko Haram Insurgency in Northern
Nigeria.
Objectives/Vision:Targeting a Nigeria which will be rated as the most child-friendly nation in the world, a nation where children enjoy the best of resources and facilities notwithstanding their social-economic or religious backgrounds. Indeed, a nation where children from the remotest parts, fully developed into responsible adults, are contributing passionately to nation building.
